The inspiration for this project came from dance, as an element capable of characterizing a culture, a chronological time, an erudite or popular knowledge. We are only interested in the latter. Popular knowledge.

This form of knowledge transmitted from generation to generation, with all its uses and customs, beliefs and superstitions, is actually the basis of the definition of Folklore, with frequent portrayals of them in their dances.

Since the Folklore Ranch is one of the most striking elements of popular culture, we sought to base our project on its movement, implicit in the costumes used to dance, mainly in the skirts of the dancers. Fragments of history, translated into a piece of fabric, attached to a body that moves “freely” on the stage.

It is precisely this movement that we tried to capture and translate into the basic form of the project: the movement of the skirt.
